TEACHING

Emily has dedicated much of her career to pedagogy and won the RBC pedagogy prize in 2021. Emily is a passionate harp teacher and flexibly teaches a range of abilities and ages. As well as teaching a selection of private students, she is head of harp harp at Warwick Preparatory School and Kings High School and also teaches at Junior Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Her students have won awards in competitions such as the Leamington Spa Competition Festival and the Bristol Harp Festival. Emily has a 100% pass rate for graded exams with Trinity and ABRSM. Emily regularly tutors for English Symphony Orchestra's Youth Courses and has tutored for Orchestra of the Swan's Primary Orchestra Day. 

As well as teaching harp, Emily is enthusiastic about providing outreach opportunities to make music more accessible for a variety of communitites. As part of this, she is involved in outreach projects such as RBC LEAP ensemble and regularly works for Cheltenham Music Festival. In 2022 she took on the role of Learning Coordinator at Birmingham Contemporary Music Group. Emily is the harp secretary for the Leamington Spa Competitive Festival.
